As an regular matcha drinker, I was really impressed with Heapwell okumidori matcha. It’s ceremonial grade and 100% stone ground as I performed the smear test, with a vibrant green colour like no other matcha brand. The flavour is smooth with a rich umami and slightly nutty taste, and no bitterness at all.
It blends and froths easily, making it perfect for matcha lattes. As someone who’s been making matcha at home more often, this is a great everyday option. I believe you’re getting high-quality powder at an affordable price.
Overall, a great value and a solid ceremonial matcha option.

I’ve tried a lot of matcha and this Heapwell Okumidori ceremonial matcha is easily one of the smoothest I’ve had. The flavour is rich and earthy without being overly bitter, and it has a naturally sweet finish that makes it really enjoyable even without adding sweetener. The colour is a vibrant green, and it froths beautifully. You can tell the quality is high from the first sip. I’ve been using it for both lattes and traditional matcha, and it works great for both. Definitely worth the price if you want a high-quality, luxury-grade ceremonial matcha.

Excellent for lattes as I like the strong punch to it. I do add 4g per latte cup to make the best tasting matcha lattes. Excellent customer service as it was delivered quickly and came with a small bamboo spoon chashaku.

At last, I found my cup of matcha! (after trying several different brands). I've been drinking matcha for a few years now, so I've learned a thing or two about it. This one truly embodies the properties of ceremonial grade matcha (creamy, vegetal flavour, not bitter, etc.). This is one of the most unique and excellent grade matcha available for a reasonable price. Easily soluble and can be mixed to make it frothy. I do use a bamboo whisk for the optimum experience. I also believe that bamboo whisk enhances the umami and gives it's natural sweetness as aftertaste. I would certainly recommend heapwell matcha to my friends and family.

I have been using Heapwell Matcha since 2017 now. Their quality has always been consistent. This Saemidori Ceremonial matcha is my favourite matcha so far; Excellent for making matcha lattes and also for drinking on it's own. The taste is quite smooth and has no astringency. Colour is bright green, which is an indicator of great quality matcha. Matcha was delivered in one day to Sheffield. I am also a fan of their Tenmyo matcha but it's slightly expensive for daily drinking but excellent for the weekly one of a personal tea ceremony that I perform in my tiny kitchen. Thanks

Overall, we're happy with the Heapwell Matcha we ordered. The pricing is very reasonable, and the quality has been excellent. One thing we weren't aware of before purchasing was the relatively short shelf life—our batch expires within 1–2 months of receipt. We did receive 40g instead of the 30g listed, which was a nice bonus and helps offset the concern. However, it would have been helpful to know the expiration timeframe in advance so we could better plan our usage and ordering schedule.

Absolutely smashing Matcha, I like an iced matcha with vanilla 😋 this power blends Lovely into a smooth paste and then add a dash of vanilla and semi skimmed milk with load of ice. Perfect will definitely order again. The quality is great. Colour and strength woth just one tea spoon is good and the size of the package is valve for money.
